VITA students help prepare nearly $2 million in tax refunds

05/31/11 Nearly $2 million in tax refunds were returned to taxpayers through the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program this spring at Kansas City Kansas Community College. In its eighth year, the VITA program has returned $8,711,420 in refunds to 7,054 taxpayers with a return of dollars to the community projected at more than $10 million.
