    Elephants to remain at zoo

    02/23/10 The Topeka City Council late Tuesday squashed a proposal to relocate the Topeka Zoo's elephants, Sunda and Tembo, to an elephant sanctuary in Tennessee. After more than two hours of discussion, the council voted 7-1 to reject a resolution to make that move, which Councilman John Alcala had brought forth earlier in the meeting. read more
