South Xtra: Peters Township bounces back in first round of PIAA tournament

06/09/11 It didn't take long for the Peters Township baseball team to do what it's done all season. After suffering an uncharacteristic 13-run loss to Seneca Valley in the WPIAL Class AAAA championship game on May 31, the Indians bounced back to their winning ways by using timely hitting and a strong pitching performance to get past the first round in the PIAA tournament Monday.

06/15/11 Joe Maize let out a chuckle in an attempt to make you believe he was, perhaps, joking. But knowing Maize, Peters Township's longtime baseball coach, there wasn't anything funny about it. "I've been having sleepless nights since about a week ago concerning that," he said. "That" is the manner in which Seneca Valley had the Indians' number this season.
