Arrests made in joint investigation

06/10/11 A joint investigation conducted by the State Alcohol and Tobacco Control Board and the Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office has led to the arrest of two individuals who are associated with Southern Kumforts Lounge on Airline Highway in Prairieville, according to Sheriff Jeff Wiley.

Baxter County students complete peer-to-peer training

07/12/11 To help minors stay away from tobacco, four students, two adults and the Baxter County Tobacco Control Committee program coordinator recently completed a three-day leadership training conference provided by the Arkansas Youth Extinguishing Smoking (YES) Team Board and professional staff.

It's Politics: State's adult smoking rate hits record low

07/16/11 Perhaps no surprise, given our state's propensity for health-conscious living, smoking rates among adults in the state reached an all-time low of 11.9 percent, according to a report released last week from the California Department of Public Health's Tobacco Control Program.
