Physicians with electronic health records are better able to sort patients by care needs

07/13/11 A study out in Health Affairs this month found that electronic health records gave doctors in three Massachusetts communities the ability to better montior their quality of care through lists that group patients by various factors in their charts, such as drug interactions or lab test outcomes. The registries could be an important tool in managing patient care and internal quality control.
