Rubio's gets $80 million takeover bid

10/15/09 Rubio's Restaurants, home of the fish taco, has received an unsolicited $80 million takeover offer from a Los Angeles-area investment group. Officials of Rubio's declined to comment yesterday, saying the matter was in the hands of the board of directors.

City planners OK surplus property sell-off

08/14/09 City planners have supported declaring a property at the southeast corner of Seventh Street and Campus Drive as surplus, paving the way for it to be sold. The half-acre property was bought by the city in 2001 as a possible location for the next city fire station to serve west Hanford.
