    UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: 3,300 acres burned, weather intense in south Monterey County wildfire

    08/27/09 UPDATE 3:30 p.m.: The Bryson Fire in south Monterey County has burnt 3,300 acres, but officials say it is not growing. Perimeter fires set and managed by firefighting crews may expand the number of burnt acres, CAL FIRE Division Chief Curt Itson said, but he does not expect the wildfire to grow further on its own. Eighty percent of the blaze has been contained, he said.
