District wants no strings attached to funding

09/15/10 ELLWOOD CITY - Ellwood City Area School District is willing to accept funding and help from the federal government and other outside entities, but not if that assistance requires the district to give up control of its procedures, Superintendent Frank Aloi said Thursday.

10/16/10 ELLWOOD CITY - Students in Ellwood City's schools did well enough on standardized testing last year to keep the district in compliance with federal No Child Left Behind rules, but Superintendent Frank Aloi worried Thursday that the law might still trip up local educators, possibly as soon as next year.
