01/19/10 The Arkansas Department of Education (ADE) on January 12 released to members of the Arkansas General Assembly a report on grade inflation, which identified 58 high schools in the state as inflating 20 percent or more of its grades.
 01/18/10 Ashley County authorities say the body of a 19-year-old man missing since early New Year's Day has been found in the Saline River near Crossett.
01/15/10 Two weeks to the day after he disappeared, searchers recovered the body of Dustin Evans, 19, from the flooded backwaters of the Saline River on Friday morning, Jan. 15. Evans' body was found in an area along Ashley Road 284 where the road intersects with Ashley 293.

12/31/09 The North Main site for a new fire station. The Hamburg City Council, in its regular meeting on Monday night, December 21, approved the purchase of about five acres of land on North Main to be used for a new fire station.

12/29/09 January of 2009 began with ceremonies on the first day of the new year in which various local officials took their oaths of office. In Hamburg, Circuit Judge Sam Pope administered the oaths of office to the various constitutional officers, including members of the quorum court and constables.

11/15/09 An American flag honoring six Cossey brothers: J. Arvle, R. Lee, G. Othel, Henry U., and R. Eugene, all of who served during World War II, and J.
