    01/07/10 A Blevins, Ark., man and three juveniles have been arrested for allegedly stealing Arkansas lottery tickets from a Blevins convenience store, Hempstead County Chief Deputy Sheriff James Singleton said.

    Slain Salvation Army Major Served Others

    01/01/10 The funeral for a Salvation Army Major killed on Christmas Eve will be held Saturday in Morgantown, W. Va. Phillip Wise was murdered in Arkansas, but grew up in Weirton. He worked at the Salvation Army in Moundsville before being transferred.

    08/14/09 Local lawmen made 21 arrests between Thursday, Aug.6, and Monday, Aug. 10. Thursday, August 6. Robert Corey Castillo, 17, Port Lavaca, was arrested by Port Lavaca Police Department (PLPD) for interfering with public duties and evading arrest and detention.

    Sands to the Rescue

    08/14/09 MIDLAND, MI - Jerry Sands was tearing up the Pioneer League this season before re-joining the Loons August 7. With Ogden, the big right-handed batter was hitting .350 with 14 home runs and was on pace for the league's MVP award. On Friday night, he was the Loons' most valuable contributor.
