In 1949, while working at a bank in Batesville, AR, she met Charles W. Lawrence and they were married December 24th of that year.

    U.S. 63 closed until at least Monday, likely longer

    04/29/11 UPDATE: Water is still rushing over U.S. 63 between Hoxie and Portia Saturday.  The AHTD says it will be at least Monday before they open the road.  It could be longer, once crews have a chance to look at the flood damage.  Use. U.S. 67 to U.S. 167 as an alternative.
