Izard County Toddler Dies

06/08/11 A toddler death in Izard county sparks an investigation involving the sheriff's office and Arkansas State Police. Izard county Sheriff Tate Lawrence says 19 month old Caiden Tharp was rushed from Mt. Pleasant to a local hospital in Batesville where he later died. It happened June 3rd.

One Year Old Arkansas Toddler Dies: Abuse is Suspected

06/08/11 Izard County deputies investigating the death of Caiden Tharp Izard County Sheriff Tate Lawrence said his department, along with the State Police , are investigating the death of a one year old male toddler. Lawrence said the body of Caiden Tharp has been sent to the state medical examiner's office in Little Rock.

Jetta Mae Lawrence

05/05/11 Jetta Mae Lawrence, 85, of East Wenatchee, WA, passed away on May 2, 2011. She was born on April 5, 1926, in Oil Trough, AR to Robert Arthur and Mary Ethel Pearce. In 1949, while working at a bank in Batesville, AR, she met Charles W. Lawrence and they were married December 24th of that year.

05/01/11 Heavy rain over Arkansas is sending many waterways over their banks. In Faulkner County, one person is reported dead and dozens evacuated after flooding. The death happened along N. Main Street in Mayflower when a vehicle was swept away.

U.S. 63 closed until at least Monday, likely longer

04/29/11 UPDATE: Water is still rushing over U.S. 63 between Hoxie and Portia Saturday.  The AHTD says it will be at least Monday before they open the road.  It could be longer, once crews have a chance to look at the flood damage.  Use. U.S. 67 to U.S. 167 as an alternative.
