|  01/07/10 UPDATE: Reports of a semi & car have collided head-on on Hwy.49 between Fisher & Waldenburg. Emergency officials report minor injured, but the road has been shut down until they can move the semi. Slick spots are being reported all across Region 8, but highway 18 between Lake City and Jonesboro is extremely dangerous. Other news07/18/11 Dr. Stephen W. Askins told members and guests at a July 15 meeting of the Lake City Rotary Club that Medicaid cuts will cause the hospital to lose more than $350,000 a year. The hospital has already lost $1.8 million dollars from the state as a result of funding cuts to rural hospitals across the state.
