Drought takes toll on hay crops

07/05/11 As drought conditions continue to plague part of the nation, local farmers are seeing it take a toll on their hay crops. Joe Benton, Pottawatomie County OSU Extension Center agricultural educator, said most people he has talked with have said they are getting half, or less, of what they normally get from their crop.

Weed scientists report new herbicide resistant weed populations

07/13/11 STUTTGART, Ark. -- Research and recommendations on managing the growing problem of herbicide-resistant weeds in rice and its usual companion crop, soybeans, will be presented at the Arkansas Rice Expo Aug. 4 at the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture's Rice Research and Extension Center.
