 01/08/10 A Thorsby woman charged with two counts of arson in connection with the fire that destroyed the Prairie Professional Building in Leduc last summer has pleaded not guilty.

09/24/09 The Thorsby Library is changing its focus, hoping to draw more visitors. The library, which is at City Hall, will soon only carry pleasure-reading books instead of non-fiction and research materials, according to Chilton-Clanton Public Library Director Jo Abernathy.

08/19/09 If you live in rural Chilton County, chances are you have had to deal with deer. The Chilton Research and Extension Center in Thorsby will host a deer management workshop Saturday, Aug. 29 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m.
08/19/09 More than 120 University of Montevallo students received diplomas during summer commencement Aug. 14. The commencement speaker was Margaret Gunter, director of communications and governmental relations for the Alabama Commission on Higher Education.
08/18/09 Neil Benson, Bill Clark and Glenn Littleton look over a map outlining a proposed zoning ordinance for the Town of Thorsby during a public hearing held on the issue Tuesday night. Additional hearings will likely be held.
08/13/09 Cedar Grove officially a fire dept. The former Collins Chapel Fire Station No. 2 is now officially known as Cedar Grove Fire Department. Adam Price, president of the Chilton Firefighters Association and chief of Cedar Grove, said papers were signed last week between the two departments.
08/12/09 Five years ago, first-year coach Leighsa Robinson was preparing the Thorsby volleyball team to compete in only its second-ever season after serving as the girls basketball coach at Chilton County.
