07/19/11 "Blau !" German soccer instructor Phillip Schneider cried out to two lines of youth soccer players gathered at Twin Valley Middle School. The students, in grades eight to 12, from Twin Valley, Fleetwood and Exeter schools, lined up in two teams, ready to tackle one another in a taglike game as soon as they heard the right German word: blau or gelb (blue or yellow).
07/19/11 After a little over a year behind bars, Roy Herman Evans, 44, has pleaded guilty to murdering 28-year-old Sunday Blombergh. District Attorney Paul Bowden said Tuesday morning that Evans pleaded guilty to malice murder late Monday afternoon at the Tift County Law Enforcement Center; Judge Melanie Cross sentenced Evans to life in prison.
