State Parks close as shutdown looms

06/30/11 Buffalo River State Park, MN (WDAY TV) - The likelihood of a government shutdown is becoming all to real. Vacationers are left scrambling to find a place to stay and enjoy the holiday weekend. Once packed Minnesota state parks are now closed. This is a prime camping time.

Sherwood pair wins permits for elk hunting

07/08/11 JASPER - For 25 lucky people, including a pair from Sherwood, the highlight of the Buffalo River Elk Festival is the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission drawing for elk hunting permits. The two-segment season will be Sept. 26-30 and Dec. 5-9.
