Packer, of Foley, pleaded guilty Feb. 1 before Baldwin County Presiding Circuit Judge James Reid to a felony charge of discharging a handgun into an occupied building or vehicle. There was no plea bargain, and Packer could get up to 20 years in prison at his sentencing set for March 18.

    Baldwin County school bus driver dies in wreck

    02/05/10 A traffic accident near Elsanor resulted in the death of a 57-year-old school bus driver Thursday morning and sent another person to an area hospital, authorities said. Betty Cantrell King, a bus driver with the Baldwin County Public School System, was pronounced dead at the scene.
