Appraisal led council to OK club purchase

01/27/10 By Robert Palmer, Staff Writer The Florence City Council's decision to offer to buy the Florence Golf and Country Club was predicated, in part, on an appraisal performed by the Lauderdale County Revenue Commissioner's office. In November, the council agreed to pay $2 million for the 158-acre country club, provided environmental surveys reveal no significant problems.
