Bomb squad called out to suspicious letter at Rainbow City Hall

06/28/11 A letter with a return address from Pakistan raised suspicions Monday when it arrived by courier at Rainbow City Hall, and that led to extra precautions and a response from the Gadsden bomb squad.

Etowah County Sheriff's Office gets armored vehicle

07/12/11 Many drivers on Wednesday did a double take as a tan military armored vehicle cruised down Alabama Highway 77 through Rainbow City. The vehicle was acquired by the Etowah County Sheriff's Office through the federal military surplus program. It arrived Tuesday from California.
