03/25/11 Mildred Dean Doyle of Montevallo passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Mrs. Doyle celebrated her 100th birthday in February at the home of her daughter, Beverly Hitt (Robert) of Montevallo, who survives her.

Ellis displayed his power at the plate to help the Jaguars bounce back from their first loss in the Birmingham Metro tournament with an 11-1 win over Thompson in a five-inning game in tournament action March 4.
03/05/11 The Oak Mountain High School baseball team defeated Hewitt-Trussville 9-2 in a Birmingham Metro tournament game March 4. Heath Quinn led the Eagles (5-2) at the plate as he finished 2-for-4 with two triples. Quinn drove in two runs and scored two runs in the victory.
