Etowah County Sheriff's Office gets armored vehicle

07/12/11 Many drivers on Wednesday did a double take as a tan military armored vehicle cruised down Alabama Highway 77 through Rainbow City. The vehicle was acquired by the Etowah County Sheriff's Office through the federal military surplus program. It arrived Tuesday from California.

Brunswick resists idea of community college becoming CFCC satellite

07/16/11 A legislative panel has endorsed a proposal to save money by merging administrations of some small community colleges into large ones nearby, a move that could see Brunswick Community College in Bolivia come under the wing of Cape Fear Community College in Wilmington. But it faces plenty of opposition.
