    Upcoming occupational tax vote has polarizing effect

    12/11/09 JEFFERSON COUNTY, AL (WBRC) - A big vote will be made next week by Jefferson County Commissioners. They will vote on a new occupational tax. Everyone who works in Jefferson County pays the tax. For the first time if it passes, it will include professionals, doctors, lawyers, architects and plumbers.

    12/11/09 BAY MINETTE, Ala. (AP) - A convicted sex offender in Daphne faces new charges linked to sexual attacks on a 6-year-old girl. Jail records show that 53-year-old Carl Lester Winston Sr. was arrested Wednesday and remained in the Baldwin County Corrections Center Friday.
