US Lawmakers Work to Renew Federal Pipeline Safety Law

01/10/11 U.S. lawmakers are looking to renew a pipeline safety law that expired last year as Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. works to restore service to the 800-mile Trans Alaska Pipeline System following the discovery of a leak.

01/17/11 The trans-Alaska oil pipeline was restarted after a 2 1/2-day shutdown. The Alyeska Pipeline Service Co. shut down the 800-mile pipeline early Saturday morning to install a bypass pipe around a leak at Pump Station 1, where the pipeline starts on the North Slope.
