Transgender actor makes finals of reality dating show

01/09/10 Alaskans who watched "Conveyor Belt of Love" on KIMO Channel 13 Monday night might have recognized Scott Turner Schofield. The transgender playwright and performer is associated with Anchorage's Out North theater company where he is the current guest artistic director.

10/22/10 Stand up for Out North Dear Arts Community, Now is the time to rally to the defense of Out North, our only avant-garde arts presenter. The conservative funder VSA, of Washington, D.C., revoked a large grant from Out North. The catalyst for this was the staging of Reefer Madness, with its satirical look at marijuana, as well as the Lesbian Film Festival that recently ran.
