Nordic skiing in Cooper Landing makes big strides

01/05/11 Downhill skiers in Cooper Landing were not the only ones who got to capitalize on the area's fantastic early-season snow this year. Nordic skiers were triply blessed by the heavy dumps, miles of clear trail and a snowmachine to groom with.

Anchor Point woman killed in crash near Cooper Landing

01/12/11 A two-vehicle crash Jan. 5 near Cooper Landing killed an Anchor Point woman. Catherine Williams, 60, died of her injuries at the scene. The crash at Mile 61.9 on the Sterling Highway near the access to Kelly and Peterson Lakes closed the highway for at least seven hours.
